| American Legion Rider -In 1993, at an American Legion post in Michigan, an idea was originated to start a motorcycle association that would operate within the American Legion. Today, that organization is known as the American Legion Riders (ALR) and can be found participating in parades, partaking in motorcycling events, and supporting the American Legion and the communities in which they live, work, and play. Members of the ALR come from the Legion, the Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of the American Legion. There are 658 ALR chapters across the country and one of those chapters is located here in Erie County.
