The old saying goes, if you don't have anything nice to say, go out to a bar, get a face full of beer, and charm everyone with your wit.
I've taken notice to the fact that when people around here get the winter blahs they also get the blah blah blah's. Weather it be talking on the phone, chatting online, or getting together as much as possible at bars and events. Usually starting off with the ol' gripe, "had enough a diss shit yet?" Or the standard, "cold enough for ya?" Yup, when I woke up this morning it was -6, and that was my penis size!
Eventually, and lucky for us, conversation turns for the better after we blow off a little steam and start talking about filling up the summer calendar, which I think has its own warming effect, just knowing all the good times we have ahead of us. Last week I was at the local A.B.A.T.E fundraiser at a place called "Kettle's Bourbon Street" and, true to form, bad weather and all, the joint was rockin! Seen alot of old friends, met some new ones, and almost every conversation went just that way, from blahs to belly up to the bar raising a toast to future good times, showing pictures of the new bikes, and filling in the blank spots in the monthly planners, almost as if as soon as everyone's feet got warm, so did their spirits.
A great friend of mine Carolyn told me that she had never seen everybody so damn happy before! (She got there late) So may I recommend to all of you who are having these winter "Blahs" and need someone to help cheer you up, call Dave O. As for me? I'll be at the local Biker bar, Its warm in there!
Don't forget the Annual Cyberspokes Food Bank Run!
